Bradenton is located on the west coast of Florida, on the southern side of Tampa Bay, and is a wonderful city to visit.  With its easy access to almost 60 miles of sugar white beaches and amazing crystal blue water, the city offers pretty coastal cityscapes along with all the amenities one would expect to find in a city.

Off the coastline of Bradenton are the barrier islands of Anna Marie Island, Longboat Key, and Siesta Key, featuring a mix of charming villages and resort communities.  And of course there is Spoonbill Villa at Perico Bay Club on Perico Island; in-between Bradenton on the mainland and Anna Maria Island! 

There are a wide variety of activates to chose from in the Bradenton & Anna Maria Island area, something for everyone to enjoy!

Outdoor activities are plentiful as you have the option of boat tours, boat rentals, fishing excursions in the Gulf of Mexico, great golf courses, remote island tours, picnicking, and several different beaches.  The Lake Manatee State Recreation Area is a great place to learn about manatees and see them in the wild and features over 500 acres of marine habitat. 

There are plenty indoor activities too!  The famous Bradenton South Florida Museum and Bishop Planetarium is an enjoyable experience.  The Aquarium, at the South Florida Museum, gives visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with Snooty, the oldest living manatee born in captivity.  If you’re a Sports fan you may have the opportunity to watch your favorite team play as spring training for Major League Baseball teams such as the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays take place every spring.  Football lovers can attend a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game or an arena football game with the Tampa Bay Storm. There are also NHL and soccer teams in the area.

Cultural Activities abound also!  Manatee County hosts numerous festivals and cultural activities throughout the year.  In winter there is the Anna Maria Island Festival of Fine Arts, the Manatee County Fair, the Palmetto Winter Craft Fair, and the annual Bradenton antique and collectibles show and the annual Cortez Seafood Festival.  Spring brings the Manatee County Heritage Days, complete with a wonderful parade, waterfront walking tours, concerts, and arts and crafts.  Not to be outdone, Anna Maria Island has its own spring fest too!  The Florida Heritage Festival is in April and celebrates Florida’s European roots and cultural diversity.  Fun continues into the summer months with numerous festivals and events occurring.  There is a huge Independence Day festival in the city of Palmetto (plus the annual residents Independence Day Parade at Perico Bay Club), and there is a manatee celebration in Bradenton.  Along with the cooler temperatures that arrive with autumn arrives the Manatee Riverfront Art Festival. 
 
And let’s not forget Anna Maria Island, just across the bridge from Perico Bay Club!  Enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches, the wide variety of restaurants and cafes and the shopping.

For a little longer excursion, Bush Gardens Amusement Park and Zoo in Tampa is only about 32 miles from Perico Bay Club.  Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal Studios are all within a 2-hour drive also!  .
